Overview

The Club Championship Cup includes:

  • 9 Regular Season Events

  • 3‑Event Playoff Series

  • $25 entry fee per participant (100% goes to the payout pool)

  • Additional payout funding from simulator rental participation

  • Each member may include one household family member as an eligible participant

How Events Work

Regular Season

  • Each event lasts 3 weeks

  • Players schedule and play one 9‑hole round during the window

  • Handicaps determine net scoring and event placement

  • Playing all 9 events increases point‑earning opportunities

  • 3 Major Events award increased points

  • Courses mirror PGA events occurring during the same timeframe

How to Register

Using the Whoosh App

  1. Log into your account

  2. Look for the event labeled “Molligans Cup Registration”

  3. Click and complete registration

  4. Your card on file will be charged $25 per player

Handicaps

  • Calculated using the average of the last 6 rounds

  • If no handicap before Event 1 → first two event scores establish it

  • No score above double bogey counts toward handicap calculation

  • Actual score is always used for event results

  • No pickups; all holes must be completed

  • Handicaps & standings updated every 3‑week cycle

  • Standings may shift as handicaps are established

  • Players who do not establish a handicap will be removed from standings

Scorecard Rules

  • Scorecards provided in each simulator room

  • Warm‑up rounds allowed, but only one official scorecard per event

  • Must record start & end time, sign the card, and drop it in the Molligans office mail slot (door down the hall toward Elevation, Suite 210)

  • Missed rounds = 0 points

  • No early play before the event window

Simulator Settings

  • 6‑foot gimmes

  • Amateur tees for men, Ladies tees for women

  • No course elevation

  • All putts must be hit from the green hitting mat

Regular Season (Front 9 only):

  • Event 1: Mar 30 – Apr 19 — Kapalua Bay

  • Event 2: Apr 20 – May 10 — New South Wales

  • Major Event 3: May 11 – May 31 — Phoenix CC

  • Event 4: Jun 1 – Jun 21 — Royal Melbourne

  • Event 5: Jun 22 – Jul 12 — Sea Island

  • Major Event 6: Jul 13 – Aug 2 — St. Andrews Old Course

  • Event 7: Aug 3 – Aug 23 — Pine Canyon

  • Event 8: Aug 24 – Sep 13 — Sanctuary

  • Major Event 9: Sep 14 – Oct 4 — Yellowstone

Playoffs:

  • Playoff Event 1: Oct 6–7 — Firestone

  • Playoff Event 2: Oct 13–14 — Pinehurst No. 2

  • Playoff Finale (18 holes): Oct 20 or 21 — PGA National

Point Breakdown

Points are awarded for:

  • Regular Season Events (standard distribution)

  • Major Events (≈40% more points than regular events)

  • Playoff Event 1 (significantly higher — 1st place ≈ double a Major)

  • Playoff Event 2 (same elevated scale as Playoff Event 1)

Playoff Format

Playoff Qualification

  • After Event 9, the top 2/3 of players advance to the Playoffs

  • Regular Season points carry into Playoff Events 1 & 2

  • All playoff rounds are played together on Tuesday or Wednesday nights

Progressive Cut

  • After Playoff Event 1 → Half the field is cut

  • After Playoff Event 2 → Half of remaining players are cut

  • Ties at the cut line all advance

  • Club personnel may adjust cut sizes if needed

Playoff Finale (18 Holes)

Players receive starting strokes based on standings:

  • 1st: 3 strokes

  • 2nd–3rd: 2 strokes

  • 4th–5th: 1 stroke

  • 6th–8th: 0 strokes

  • Adjustments may be made based on participation

Champion is determined by low net score for the Finale only.
 Ties for 1st → 3‑hole playoff.

Payouts

  • Based on total participation

  • Finalized after the last Major

  • Payouts limited to 15–25% of active Cup players

Trophy

The Champion’s name is engraved on the Club Championship Trophy and displayed in the Gallery Room.
